The journey

As long as I remember, I always had a camera in hand and an adventurer's spirit. It first started with a disposable camera, during my firsts family trips abroad, taking photos and waiting with excitement to see what would come back on the developed prints. I loved placing each image in an album—each one a small window into a memory, a feeling, a place I didn’t want to forget.

As time passed, the cameras changed. I moved to digital, and photography became something I always carried with me while traveling. I shot everything—landscapes, monuments, animals, textures. But somewhere along the way, I lost sight of why I was taking photos. Where on a film camera, you are limited by the number of photos you can take on one film, digital camera allows you to take as many as you want—a bit too many, to the point where there was no more soul to my photography.

I realized how important it is to slow down, to observe rather than accumulate—to live in the moment and capture only what truly connects with me. Photography now feels less like a duty to capture everything and more like a way to hold onto the moments that truly matter—the way I did in childhood. It’s no longer about quantity, but about cherishing the images that carry meaning, emotion and a sense of freedom.

Lately, I've felt lost, searching for direction. For a long time, I didn’t know where to turn—and in many ways, I still don’t. But quietly, that sense of purpose has returned. I’ve realized how important it is to be driven by a mission, to have a goal that fuels me. Reconnecting with my passion for nature and wildlife — and becoming an Ocean Ambassador — has shown me how vital it is to use photography and storytelling to give a voice to the fragile ecosystems I care about most.
